Everybody knows that each and every wedding is formed by those tiny yet significant details making it unique and unforgettable. Every component matters. But as wedding planners we are sure – no wedding party can exist without music and all those legendary wedding songs.
F rom neatly prepared table decorations, through perfectly fitted wedding dress to the wedding cake. There are lots of elements to discuss. However, some of them are outstandingly more important, making your wedding ceremony so special. One of them is musical background – tucking every guests with a sweet melody that lasts to the early morning hours.
Here are the legendary wedding songs that are a real MUST on your wedding party.
Let’s start with some classic hits, that will fill up the dancefloor in nearly five seconds. No matter the age – everyone shall be tempted to do some dance tricks when “Time of my life” comes out of the loudspeakers. The old and good Dirty Dancing main motif is a real must-to-be on every single wedding party. The melodic intro followed by those Swayze’s sounds shall move even all the dance haters. Just hear all the guests singing that they have “Never felt this way before” with those smiling faces. A little heaven for everyone in love with classic sounds!
Moving on, yet still staying classic. What can we do when our guests are not so eager to rush to the dancefloor? Ask the DJ to move them a little bit up by playing Gloria Gaynor’s “I Will survive”. This timeless always-on-top classic shall not be unrecognized. For sure. Just look at all of those hands in the air and voices crying heavily that they will survive. Indeed and so will the party itself!
But hey, all the beloved couples and the newlyweds themselves are waiting for this romantic moments to nestle in each other’s arms on the dancefloor and just forget about the world itself. And here comes Ray LaMontagne with his “You are the best thing”. What can be more romantic than a male hoarse throat accompanied by a melodic guitar, trumpet and those love-themed lyrics? Give the love birds some space by playing “Thinking out loud” by Ed Sheeran. This spectacular song is a rea pleasure to dance to. Not only the lyrics, but also the melody is so passionate that even the most untalented ones will be tempted to try a little of ballroom dancing.
While thinking about the playlist you should also keep in mind all of those fans of something a little bit heavier that sweet pop songs. And I’m not thinking about death metal songs on the wedding party. Don’t worry! But what about playing Led Zeppelin’s “Whole Lotta Love”? Even those not in love with rock hits will enjoy jumping a little bit on the dancefloor when this brilliant intro goes loud.
But, we should also remember about those who cherish those light, romantic wedding songs. Especially with some chilling guitar motif. Introducing the one and only “Question” by Old 97’s. It’s an ideal wedding song that shall melt ever single heart. The proposal text accompanied by a moving melody is all you need to have those shivers on your skin.
When the night is getting darker and darker, the hour is getting late you don’t want your guests to fall asleep, do you? So let’s “Hit the road (…)” with Ray Charles on the vocals! This classic 60’s song is always a cheerful pause among all of those fresh and new radio hits. Want something more? Be sure to hit the dancefloor while hearing “Twistin’ the Night Away” by Sam Cooke. Now, everyone stands and does some twist!
Everytime when thinking about a perfect wedding songs playlist try to figure out your guests’ expectations and music taste. Remember that that every good wedding party lasts till morning hours – it’s important though to keep the playlist multifarious, yet classic. Now get ready, ’cause the DJ is starting the party!
